- The least visited parks in Tanzania safari from south africa are often the most distant or the most difficult to access. Tranquility is earned!

- The budget for a safari in Kenya is generally lower than in neighboring countries or Southern Africa, which makes it a more family-oriented , even popular, destination .

- However, certain vaccines are compulsory to go to Kenya, in particular the vaccine against yellow fever . Diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis (DTP) is also highly recommended, as is tuberculosis vaccination. In children, add the MMR (Rubella-Mumps-Measles) vaccine.

Focus on the main parks in northern Tanzania:

Extending over nearly 15,000 km2, the Serengeti National Park , listed as a World Heritage Site, is the second largest animal reserve in Africa and one of the largest preserved ecosystems in the world.

There are around 4 million animals including the famous Big Five and more than 400 species of birds. If the Serengeti National Park is one of the essentials of Tanzania , it is also and above all because of the two annual migrations of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles of Thomson that it welcomes.

With the Ngorongoro conservation area , the Serengeti plains offer the wildebeest an environment of rivers and lakes which is particularly favorable to them. There are thus nearly one million six hundred thousand to take refuge in Kenya during the dry season to return en masse to Tanzania in the rainy season ... a moving spectacle!

The Ngorongoro conservation area which adjoins it and in particular its famous crater , a vast circular caldera over 20 km in diameter sheltering a particularly rich fauna, also constitute an essential stage in the North.

Four hundred species of birds indeed occupy the crater, among which many pink flamingos who bathe in Lake Makat alongside the hippos while the buffaloes wallow in the mud.

Less known and yet just as impressive, the Tarangire National Park is spread over a long and narrow strip of 2,600 km² which stretches on either side of the river of the same name, just a 2 hour drive from Arusha .

It differs from other parks in Tanzania by its typically African landscapes and in particular its forests of acacias and giant baobabs with large areas of green marshes sheltering some 300 species of birds . It is also located in an important migration area .

From June, thousands of elk, oryx, elephant, wildebeest and zebra migrate from Manyara and the foothills of Ngorongoro to the Tarangire river and the surrounding marshes, offering visitors a breathtaking spectacle!

Finally, if the Manyara National Park , ideally located between Arusha and the crater of Ngorongoro, is not very frequented because of its smaller size, it constitutes a perfect stage for a day Tanzania safari from south africa.

It is home in particular to a large population of baboons and blue monkeys . You will also see lions climbing trees as well as numerous elephants, giraffes and flamingos around the lake.
